Graduate Program Applications for 2025-2026 Fall Semester

Applications for Graduate Programs for 2025–2026 Fall Semester

Applications (including transfers) to our institute’s graduate programs for the 2025–2026 Fall Term will begin on June 30, 2025, and end on August 27, 2025. For application requirements, quotas, and detailed information, click here.

Applications will be approved by our institute within the application calendar. Once your application is approved by the institute, no changes can be made by the applicant. Therefore, please do not complete your application before finalizing your program choices and their order of preference. In case of a mandatory need for change in an already approved application, you must send a reasoned message to the “OBS Graduate Application Problems” message category via e-enstitu.yildiz.edu.tr. If your request is accepted, your application will be reverted to the draft stage. Applicants are responsible for re-submitting their application before the deadline if reverted.

Applications of candidates who are not listed as graduates in the YÖK system by the deadline will be rejected. Candidates who have fulfilled graduation requirements but whose status is not yet updated in the YÖK system must submit an official letter (clearly stating their graduation) issued by their university to our institute (Room 2019) in person by the application deadline. This document must be either electronically verifiable or bear a wet signature and official stamp.

The validity period for ALES and GRE (accepted as equivalent to ALES by ÖSYM) is five (5) years. For the ALES-GRE Score Conversion Table used in our institute, click here.

International candidates applying to programs taught in Turkish must upload a C1-level TÖMER certificate obtained from TÖMER/Language Centers of public universities in Türkiye or from the Yunus Emre Institute. TÖMER certificates are valid for 2 years. However, foreign nationals who have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in a program taught in Turkish at a Turkish university are exempt from the TÖMER requirement. These candidates must upload their graduation certificate from e-Devlet instead of a TÖMER certificate.

Candidates can apply to a maximum of 2 master's programs and only 1 doctoral program. The order of preferences is binding; the program you wish to prioritize must be your first choice.

ALES and language proficiency scores are not required for applications to non-thesis master’s programs. No interview will be held; placement will be based on undergraduate GPA.

Candidates who graduated from higher education institutions abroad and cannot provide GPA documentation in a 100 or 4.00 scale will be considered as having a GPA of 2.00/4.00. These candidates must personally apply to our institute before the application deadline with their YÖK equivalency certificate and all original documents.

APPLICATION EVALUATION AND PLACEMENT PROCESS

Once applications are completed and approved by our institute, candidates listed as accepted must log in to the OBS system and complete their registration online within the announced dates. According to YÖK and YTÜ regulations, candidates must not be enrolled in another thesis-based graduate program during registration. Following the main registration phase, waitlisted candidates will be evaluated and can register through the same system if spots remain.

If a candidate is placed in their first choice, their second choice will not be considered, regardless of whether they register or not. Therefore, candidates who are admitted to their first-choice program must complete their registration within the designated period.

If a candidate is not placed in their first choice but is accepted into their second, the first choice will not be reconsidered as a waitlist option. These candidates must register for their second-choice program within the given dates.

The same rules apply during the evaluation of waitlisted candidates.
