Foreign applicants wishing to apply to our Institute’s doctoral programs who have received a letter of acceptance from a faculty member at our University who will serve as their thesis advisor must first complete their applications fully and accurately through the Student Information System (OBS).

Applicants who have completed their application through OBS must, along with the documents listed below, submit an in-person application to the Department Chair of the program they wish to enroll in by 3:00 PM on September 16, 2026, to the Department Chair of the program they wish to enroll in; provided they meet the minimum application requirements for the program, they may be enrolled outside the quota and without an exam, subject to the opinion of the relevant Department Chair and a decision by the Institute’s Administrative Board. (Samples of the application documents must be submitted to our Institute via the EBYS system through the Department Chair.)
The entire process must be completed within the application deadlines. Otherwise, the application will not be approved by the Institute.

Diploma: Apostilled diploma or graduation certificate for completed undergraduate and graduate programs
Transcript: Apostilled transcripts for completed undergraduate and graduate programs

University Recognition Certificate: A document issued by YÖK certifying the recognition of a foreign higher education institution from which students have graduated from undergraduate and graduate programs (https://denklik.yok.gov.tr/)
ALES or GRE Certificate (Must have achieved the minimum score required for the program to which you are applying
TÖMER C1 Certificate: Valid for 2 years. It must be obtained from TÖMER centers at state universities in Turkey or from Yunus Emre Institutes. Applicants who have completed an undergraduate and/or graduate program in Turkish in Turkey are exempt from the TÖMER C1 requirement.
