A new paragraph has been added to Article 42 of the Senate Procedures and Principles for the Implementation of the Regulations on Graduate Education and Teaching by Senate Resolution No. 04-15 dated May 4, 2026.
Under this amendment, a new right has been granted to students who are in the final semester of their maximum program duration and have met all other requirements for a doctoral degree but have not yet fulfilled the publication requirement for an article derived from their dissertation.
Accordingly;
* Students whose article derived from their dissertation has been accepted by the relevant indexed journal but has not yet been published,
* Students whose article has been requested for revision following peer review, and have resubmitted the revised version to the journal’s system after making the necessary corrections,
may apply to be granted a leave of absence for the relevant semester by decision of the Institute’s Administrative Board, provided they submit the required documents to our Institute through the Department Chair.
Thanks to this regulation, students in the final semester of the maximum duration of their doctoral program whose article submission process is ongoing may benefit from a one-semester leave of absence provided they meet the specified conditions.
Application Deadline: June 29, 2026
Application Procedure: All required documents for the application must be submitted to the Department Chair where the student is enrolled and forwarded to the Institute via the EBYS system.
